So I'm out on my bike one morning, stopped at a red light at this junction, somewhere on the outskirts of Bristol.

I am in position (a), waiting to continue south-east.

The light's red, so, I'm stopped, right? As is the rest of the traffic in my lane. Right.

Now, IF - while the aforementioned light is still red - a car were to exit the petrol station (b) drive out in front of me, straight over the pedestrian crossing (c) while the wee man is green and schoolchildren are crossing, and clumsily merge with startled right-turning traffic (d) who have right of way because traffic light for people at (a) is still red...

THEN

driver of said car is an idiot and shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel.

Am I right?
